Tara was born in Flint, MI, where she began dancing at age four. She received her early training at the Flint Institute of Music, where she studied ballet and modern dance. After high school, she continued her education at the University of Oklahoma as a National Merit Scholar. While completing her BFA in Ballet Performance, Tara performed many soloist and principal roles in works by renowned choreographers, and was selected to dance in a tour to Shanghai, China.
Since graduating, Tara has danced professionally with City Ballet of San Diego, Tulsa Ballet, and Grand Rapids Ballet, performing choreography by George Balanchine, Paul Taylor, Twyla Tharp, and David Parsons. Her most recent project found her in Milwaukee, WI as a dancer for NomadicLIMBS, an innovative dance collective.
Tara is thrilled to begin sharing her love of fitness, movement, and music as a FlyBarre instructor. When she's not dancing and performing in the Chicago area or pulsing in the FlyBarre studio, she can be found wandering happily around a farmers market, reading a book by the lake, or hunting for vintage clothing.
