Colleen Cary

Colleen fell in love with indoor cycling in 2005, when she lived on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and was pursuing her masters in social work. It seemed impossible to believe that she had been burning calories while rocking out for 45 minutes at an early morning class. She knew then that she had stumbled upon something that would change her life!

She’s in Chicago now and is, once again, back in school - this time to pursue her Ph.D. at the University of Chicago. She was elated when asked by her favorite instructor, Kate Hickl, if she’d be interested in teaching at Flywheel Chicago, and she quickly made it a goal. She’s thrilled to share her love of the sport and her love of music with her riders.

When she is not on the bike, Colleen may be meditating; she is committed to cultivating presence and compassion in her daily life, attending bi-annual silent vipassana retreats. She may also be writing and researching about the needs of children and teens in the foster care system, the subject of her doctoral studies.
